Industrial hoses are mainly used for software connections between equipment. Compared with civilian hoses, they have many excellent properties. Industrial hoses can generally be divided into nine categories including air, ventilation, and welded hoses based on different usage conditions. And the application range of industrial hoses is very wide, not only in industry but also in agriculture, and the fields involved also cover various aspects such as petroleum, steam, fire protection, etc.
PVC hose is a type of industrial hose. It is made of PVC as the main material, and then adds certain auxiliary materials to form a certain formula. The so-called PVC material is actually a general-purpose synthetic resin whose chemical composition is polyvinyl chloride, and can be seen everywhere in our daily lives.
Next, let’s take a look at how to choose PVC hoses.
1. Barrier properties of materials. If the packaged product is a volatile content such as essential oils, we must choose a five-layer co-extruded tube with an oxygen transmission rate of 0.2~1.2 units. Because this kind of hose has better barrier properties than ordinary ones.
2. Stiffness of material. Generally speaking, different enterprises have different stiffness requirements for PVC hose materials depending on the products they transport. Usually, high-density polyethylene is better than low-density polyethylene, and the required stiffness can be achieved early by adjusting the ratio.
3. Selection of pipe materials. First of all, materials must comply with relevant national health standards, and some harmful substances such as heavy metals must also be controlled within a reasonable range in accordance with regulations.
4. Chemical resistance and weather resistance of the material. Similar to stiffness, higher density has slightly better chemical resistance than lower density. Weather resistance depends on the choice of varnish type and color masterbatch type.
PVC hoses are also widely used in construction. For example, after being heated at high temperatures, they can be shaped into different types of casings, which can be used to protect electrical appliances and many circuits.
