In most cases, there are no testing tools and testing conditions. We can roughly identify the quality of PVC steel wire pipes based on vision, smell, touch and other senses.
1. Observe whether the lumen is regular and the wall thickness is uniform. The inner cavity and outer edge of good quality PVC steel wire pipes are standard circular, and the annular pipe wall is evenly distributed. Taking a PVC steel wire pipe with an inner diameter of 89mm and a wall thickness of 7mm as an example, the thickest part of the wall of a poor-quality pipe can reach 7.5mm and the thinnest part is only 5.5mm. When working under high pressure, uneven stress on the pipe wall can easily cause the PVC steel wire pipe to burst or deform, affecting normal use.
2. Observe whether there are bubbles or other visible objects on the wall of the PVC steel wire pipe, and whether the wall is colorless and transparent. The wall of high-quality PVC steel wire pipe is crystal clear and free of any impurities. The yellowing color of defective PVC steel wire pipes may be caused by improper handling during the production process, decomposition, aging, or long-term improper storage.
3. Except for a little plastic smell, high-quality PVC steel wire pipe does not have any smell of other petrochemical products. Inferior steel wire pipes have an unpleasant and pungent diesel smell, which makes them inaccessible, especially in hot climates.
4. The inner and outer walls of high-quality PVC steel wire pipes are smooth and feel good, while low-quality pipes are rough.
5. When measuring the wall thickness, both ends of the PVC steel wire pipe should be cut off, and the middle pipe should be selected as a sample for testing. To prevent some unscrupulous manufacturers from making a fuss at both ends of the pipe, the actual wall thickness is thinner than the two ends of the pipe.
6. Cut a few centimeters of steel wire from both ends of the PVC steel wire pipe, fold the steel wire repeatedly, and test the strength and toughness of the steel wire. Poor-quality steel wires will break after just one or two folds, while the steel wires of high-quality PVC steel wire pipes require special tools to cut off. The quality of the steel wire determines the quality of the entire pipe. PVC steel wire pipes with quality problems caused by steel wires are prone to irrecoverable deformation.
